The Music Therapist represents Laura Baker Services Association to the customers and communities in which the Association participates, using Laura Baker Services Association standards of conduct and guiding philosophies to promote the well-being of the people the Association supports. The Music Therapist is responsible to assess, develop, and implement the structured use of music to help clients achieve therapeutic goals.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide Music Therapy services in accordance with approved standards
- Communicate in an open professional manner with households, clients and their families and interdisciplinary teams, all staff and support staff
- Assess and monitor individual client needs for and benefits from a music therapy program
- Develop programming recommendations for goals, considering input from clients and household staff
- Assess and monitor program data (daily logs, data collection charts, monthly updates, quarterly and annual reports)
- Track accomplishments and outcomes for each client as specified in the Individual Program Plan
- Serve as a resource to clients and staff
- Employ a variety of teaching techniques to teach both staff members and clients

Knowledge & Education Requirements:

- Must be board certified as a Music Therapist
- Must have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities


Employees are eligible for a raise after the first 6 months of employment. Benefits are available after the first 60 days of employment to all employees consistently working 30 hours per week or more. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, 401k plan, and paid time off.
